Home for animals!!!!

Well, I am going to go for it again. What I mean is that I am going to work on my proposal again to find money to open a home for animals. The Haven of Hope Animal Rescue. That is the name of my home for lost and abandoned animals. There are so many out there and now with so many people losing their homes some people are just walking away and leaving their pets in the home.

I don't think they should just walk away and leave them in the homes, but a lot of people are doing just that. If you have to leave then please just find a no kill shelter and leave them. Even most of these shelters are full and can't take them in. I think all living and breathing beings either four legged or two deserve to live out their lives in a warm loving home. I know a fantasy. I'm hoping though, that people will change and come to believe that animals do hurt and cry like people. Don't you want to have a place to go to that will take care of you and to feed you and to just love you. Well, that's what I want for these animals that are being put to death because of overcrowding.

That is what happened here at the Virginia Beach animal control, some dogs got sick(Provo) (I hope I spelled it right), so they put those to sleep and then put even more to death because of not having room. The state has been on them for a few years now because of poor conditions and yet they ( the Virginia Beach City Council) can not or more likely will not find the money for a new shelter. I think the city should take the shelter out of the police depts. hands.

So, if anyone out there knows where I can get some money to get the shelter started let me know. I want to get money to buy a lot of land so they can live and feel safe. I want to save as many as I can, so if anyone has any ideas just let me know.

No Faith In People Anymore!!!

I have no faith in my fellow man anymore. Most people are selfish with the me mentally. My husband stopped yesterday morning at a Hardee's to get a biscuit and when he got ready to leave his truck wouldn't start. It was the battery. He told me no one would help him and if it wasn't for a guy that works on the same job site as he, he said he would have had to call me just to give him a jump.

Today I went to Cape Henry Hardware in Virginia Beach where I live to mail a letter. They have a contract post office inside. Well, there was one lady at the counter being waited on and two women at the table, each with a pile of stuff to be mailed and they were still working on it. One lady said ''we are in line''. And the clerk just nodded his head. I didn't move, but I told her to go ahead, she rolled her eyes and said we will go our turn. I said screw this and I told her that when people are in line that means they are in line and not working on their stuff to be mailed. I said I'll go to the real post office, I told her I can't stand idiotic people and left. What gets me is that I had one envelope to get one stamp for while these women had piles of stuff to go out. I mean, they would have to wait a whole minute while I got a stamp.

If I had my way I would move off somewhere by myself with my animals and just deal with people over the net. Get my groceries ordered, anything that I need just order it from the net.I have always let people in front of me if I see that they have one item and I have a bunch of stuff, whether in the post office or grocery store. I try to be nice to my fellow man. But I just give up, we have all these animals in the animal shelter ran by the city of Virginia Beach dying because they put them to sleep because they don't have room in the place they're at but they have money to build a rec center that you can't use on holidays because they are closed. Hell, that's when a lot of people want to use it, when they are off of work.

I know that furthering your education is really important, but it just kills me to see someone leave a large amount of money to a school while you could take some of that money and open a huge no kill shelter. I love art just like the next person but it's the same as the schools, I believe that keeping something alive and healthy is more important. I know that most people don't agree with me but that's what's wrong with the world today. They don't consider animals as important, they are just animals. That's why some people don't see anything wrong with dog fighting or cock fighting. These animals bleed and hurt just like we do, they just don't have the voice to speak out. Who will stand up for them?

So, am I being petty, was I wrong to think that when you are in a line it means you are actually standing there ahead of me or behind me? I won't even waste my time anymore on going back to Cape Henry Hardware post office because if the postal clerk doesn't have the nuts to tell someone that you're not in line if you're still working on your packages why bother giving them your money. They are a contract station so they make money on their sales. So, I'll just drive the extra mile or two and stand in a real line. At least at the real post office if you don't have your package done you are not considered in line unless you have a problem or question.

I stand with the President on this issue!!!!!

Well....I have to say that I do like President Obama on taking a stand on tax loopholes used overseas by some of our U.S. firms. Someone needs to crack down on companies ''that ship jobs overseas''. He has a uphill battle though, the Democrats have been fighting to close loopholes for years now. The Republicans will fight tooth & nails on this issue.

I bet the lobbyists will be chomping at the bit to make sure the President doesn't get his way. It's a shame that when someone finally wants to take a stand and do something about the way our companies close shop up here then have everything overseas so they can save money...get their tax breaks. They don't care that the effect of them doing this is a major slam on our countries economy. I wish the President all the luck in the world... he will need it.

Signs of life in our economy, man I hope that is true. In our area home sales was up slightly. In the South Hampton Roads area it was reported that 799 homes were sold in March, that's up 38% from February...but still 10% below sales in March of 2008. I feel like things are slowly but surely turning for the better, people are spending a little money....putting it in the economy to get things going again. I told my husband that things would get better this summer, so maybe it is heading there now, a couple months earlier. Things are getting to get better, we just need to hang in there a little longer.

I am going to say I hope that things are turning around for everyone, I also hope that the Democrats & Republicans stand behind the President and his plans on fixing the tax loopholes oversea. Let's keep our fingers crossed on this one because I believe it will benefit everyone!!!!
