Over The Weekend Rant!!!

Well, another weekend gone and a new week here. So, what happened in the news over the weekend. Poor Madonna, she had to leave the country without another child from this poor country. I'm sadden that she couldn't have the rules broken for her again. She's going to appeal, my advice is..yep...here it is... GET OVER IT!!!! There are plenty of children here in the United States that need a loving home. Where are the celebrities? Rosie has adopted children from the U.S. , she didn't feel like she had to rush out of the country to save a kid from a life of misery. Wake up people, it's not a bed of roses living in this country. You have families dying because the grown ups decide they can't live like they are doing, losing their jobs, their homes. Not to long ago in the paper there was a couple who worked at a hospital and they both lost their jobs. Well, they decided to take their own life, but, they decided to take their three kids with them. They left a note saying they didn't want the kids to be put in the system and not being taken care of. Were they selfish by killing their kids, or did they do the kids a favor by saving them all the heartache and misery they knew was going to come?

Okay, moving on. The Associated Press recently reported that legislatures in at least eight states have considered proposals that would subject recipients of welfare,food stamps and unemployment benefits to random drug tests. What the hell???? You have Craig Blair, a West Virginia lawmaker, saying'' Nobody's being forced into these assistance programs''. What the hell???? Where has he been hiding? Yes, CRAIG, people are being forced into these programs everyday. Blair goes on by saying''If so many jobs require random drug tests these days, why not these benefits?'' The difference to me, at least, CRAIG, is that the benefits are there to help people when they fall on hard times and lose their jobs. Sure, there are people that abuse the system that was created to help out the down and out when needed, but what about the people that actually need those benefits. You are going to make them pee in a cup before they can get their unemployment check? Now, get this one. You have a state senator from Florida that wants the unemployed to pay for the test they'll be forced to take. What the hell???? With the way things are now you are going to force people to pee in a cup to get their benefits. The number of Americans drawing unemployment benefits surpasses 5.7 million. Yes people, that's 5.7 million. You have more than 32 million, or one in every 10 Americans receiving food stamps. These so called lawmakers need to get off their asses and figure out how to help and not to try to cause people more harm. I would love to see an over haul of the way the government is run. It needs to be torn down and rebuild for the people. These lawmakers get in office and spent 20-40 yrs or longer in office and it makes them feel some much more superior than us. They don't care about you and me, they have their cushy job where they get away with anything. Stand up people, we need to stand up together and get these good ole boys and gals out of office. They don't work for us, just their own selfish needs. Power destroys a lot of people, get rid of their power and they are just like you and me, a nobody in a group of nobodies.
