Amazing!!!

I saw the most amazing thing on our local news just a few minutes ago!

On our local news cast it showed a video from Chile, it was a dog dodging traffic, and then it showed the dog pulling another dog across the highway to the side of the road where some workers were waiting. The dog didn't make it, that was the sad part and the hero of the day ran off. I mean, man, my heart stopped watching that dog dodge that traffic. A real hero. It shows that maybe, just maybe, there is hope left in this world.

Hillary & Obama

Well, President elect Mr. Obama did the best thing by pulling Hillary into his circle. She is one smart lady and I will hand it to Mr. Obama, it seems like he is getting the right people to work with.

So, right now it looks like he's on the right path. I don't think he can do any worse than Bush has done. I am really glad that he did pick Hilary to be the Secretary of State, she is a smart woman who I think can handle the job. Mr. Obama has his hands full when he takes the office in January, I don't fail because that means our country fails also.

He said it all, ''She is going to be an outstanding secretary of state,'' ''And if I didn't believe that, I wouldn't have offered her the job. And if she didn't believe that I was equipped to lead this nation in such a difficult time, she wouldn't have accepted.'' I honestly think they will work great together, they may butt heads but I think they both want to do what's right for the country.

Are We Savages?

Well, another black Friday come and gone. And guess what came with it. Death. What in the world did Wal-Mart have that was so special that all those people showed up thinking they were going to get it?

I mean, damn, that's something I will not do, stand in line to get something. It happens every year, the stores have something on sale and they only get a few in and knowing that people are going to show up looking for these items. I hold the store partly responsible along with the people that stomped that guy to death. Did you read what some people said when they were told the store was closing because someone was killed? Some said'' I waited in line all morning to get in and I'm not leaving'', and they continued to shop.

Someone was quoted as calling the people storming into the store as savages. No, those people knew what they were doing. Other employees tried to help and some where hurt, why all the pushing and shoving. I hope the police will find out the identity of all the people who stomped and killed that worker. He didn't deserve to die like that, just doing his job. Wal-Mart and all these stores having all these so called Black Friday deals should be held responsible when someone dies or is hurt. It's just gotten way out of hand, it needs to stop now. There is not a deal out there worth someone dying for!

Let's Help One Another

With the way things are going now, there will be more people( mostly children) that will go hungry tonight. At Food Lion at the registers they have can/box food you can buy and they put in in a huge box to give to the food banks. I will be standing in line watching people, the cashier asks if they want to donate to the food bank. You would not believe that these people will not even buy a can of food to the food bank.
I have been in only one time that I have not bought something to donate. Sure things are tight at my house but I feel like I can give a couple cans or a couple food items to help out. I hope that if I ever need the help from the food bank I could get it. But no one can get help if people like us don't donate. I'm no saint, but if I see someone and they ask me for money I try to give them a couple of bucks. I know there are scams ran everyday, but you never know when that someone that really needs it asks for your help...so I give, hoping that the person that asks for it really needs it.
People need to help out more, we need to help someone when they put their hand out. This year I want to open my home at Christmas and invite a couple of military personal that don't have any family around here to share the day with us. It may not be much, but, to me it's a start to put my hand out to help someone else.

Bailouts

Bailouts. Will they ever end??? So many companies with their hands out...give me, give me, give me. Please. I'm tired of the tax payers bailing out companies. Look at the banks. They got a lot of money supposedly to help with the mortgage crisis, to lend money out. Guess what? It ain't happening.

They are holding on to the money with a tight fist, looking their nose down on people. How can we give you money and you might not be able to pay it back...looks who's talking. They have enough nerve to question if anyone can pay them back when they themselves ran their banks into the ground. They went to Congress and asked for help, Congress gave them OUR MONEY, to help out some of these people that are going to lose their homes without help. Is the banks going to help them? A BIG FAT NO.

Now the three big auto makers wants money. The Democrats reasoning behind helping them out is the tens of thousands jobs that will be lost if with don't shell out money to them. That $700 billion didn't stop people from losing their jobs, their homes. So, what makes us think it's going to save jobs by bailing them out. Businesses in my area are closing down or laying off people, is Congress going to come here and bail them out...I don't think so.

So, let's all write, shout, tell these people in Washington NO MORE BAIL OUTS!!!!!

Enough Already!!!!

I'm not talking about politics today. My thought for today is...Why are people so obsessed with why and when Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt became an item? I mean really, who cares if Jennifer and Brad were still married when the affair began. These people are human after all, and as we all know''shit happens''. Angelina Jolie is a good and kind person..what I have read about her!!! She puts her money and her time where her mouth is(old expression).

She gives her money to people and charities, she is always working on something for some cause or another( along with /Brad now). She was doing this before she met Brad Pitt and now they are both doing good. This article that Jennifer Aniston is talking about now was in a magazine last year. Why talk about it now? Could it be she has two movies coming out and lets face it, she's not as popular or as talented as Angelina? I don't read anything about Jennifer doing this for someone or some cause. The only time you read about her is when she starts seeing someone or is breaking up with someone. And of course when she has another movie coming out.

Shouldn't she be tired of playing the victim in this that happened over 2/3 yrs ago? Why keep slamming a dead issue in the ground? I have never been crazy about an actor/actress, I know they are just people with faults & flaws just like us. If the affair started when Brad and Jennifer were married, why just blame it on Angelina? Why not put some of the blame where it lies...on Brad? A happy and strong marriage will survive a flirtation because a marriage is basted on more than sexual feelings.

So, please, stop talking about it, because, frankly I'm tired of hearing it.

Things Won't Change

Obama ran on that Change. How are things going to change? It will be the same ole crap. I wrote yesterday that I hope we could all pull together, but after all the media coverage SINCE the election I'm just sick to my stomach.

I love my country but if I had the money I would pack up and move out of here. Things are not going to get better, things are going to get bad. All this stuff that's floating around on the net about Obama should have been brought to light, but, alas it wasn't. A lot of people will tell you'' You can't believe everything you read'' , most people believe that which amazes me. Because to put this out for the world to see it has to have an ounce of truth to it.

I can't get past the fact that he went to church for twenty years listening to sermons on hate and when he starts to run for office he pleads outrage at the preacher and makes a big show about leaving the church. Well, people put him in office and now the rest of us will suffer. I know Bush wasn't a great President, hell, he will go in the history books as one of the worst ones.

That's another thing that makes me stew a little. Everyone is talking about history being made with him becoming our President, the first black one and these same people are telling us that our History ....the civil war should be forgotten... with the South and their confederate flag. No matter how hard you try to erase it, the confederate flag was a part of our history. Just because a group of stupid people decide to use it for their cause doesn't change OUR HISTORY.

So, my thought for today is, you people that voted for Obama will see that you were duped and we all will pay the price and leave our History alone.

Hoping for the best now!

Now we have a new President elect, let's all pull together and hope for the best for OUR COUNTRY.Because it is our country no matter what party you are in or if you're in one or not.

We need to pull together so we can show the world that we will be behind this new President elect, and we he becomes our President we'll be there to show him our support. I did not vote for him because of a few issues but I'm willing to give him a try.

To me the most powerful thing in the world is not the missiles, the countries with the nuclear bombs. WORDS is the most powerful thing. Why, do you ask? Because words is what sets everything that happens to us in motion. It's what gets one person pissed off with another person. Words came spew hate and once it's said it's out there, it's hard to erase.

Words can spread love and it can spread hope to someone. So, I'm hoping that all the words that came from Mr. Obama will be ones that he will carry out and not made just to be elected. So, Mr. Obama I'm hoping for the best from you for our country and for my family members that just lost their jobs because the company they worked for just closed down. My words my not make a difference to anyone but I said them because that's the way that I feel.

Voted Today

Well, I did it. I got out this morning and was at the polls when they opened up at 6:00. I was there an hour & 20 minutes...it was worth it. My husband Razz got up and got there before me and voted and went to work.

He wasn't going to vote this time around but he changed his mind and went and voted for John McCain too. He said it was just to important not to be heard. I agree with him. If I'm wrong about Obama I will admit it...but, I don't think I am, but who knows.

I have never seen such a turn out before like this. Usually when I go to vote I'm there maybe 10 minutes total. People just didn't go to vote, but not this time. No matter who wins he will have a job on his hands to get us back on our feet. The world is watching this election, some with evil intentions while others with concern about their future with us.

All that really matters is that whomever wins should know we must stand together to be stronger. Together we can change the way things are done in this country.

Getting closer

Well, tomorrow is D-Day as I call it. A article appeared in our paper the other day about Mr. Obamas aunt that lives here in this country illegally. She was denied asylum four years ago...but guess what....she's still here living in New York. In a newspaper article that I read a couple months back it he said he wants to give the illegal immigrates amnesty. Now I know why, because of his aunt. You have seen people in office raked through the coals for having a nanny or housekeeper that's here illegally so why hasn't this been brought up.

Well, I'm going to vote tomorrow and I'll vote for McCain, if Obama wins more power to him and if he does a good job then I'll say good job, way to go. He already shows that he will help out a family member if he's in office when knowing she should have been sent back when she was told no.

I Know Now !!!!!! !!!!!!!

I know whom I'm voting for thanks to someone that has shown me something that I didn't know before. I have been up in the air , back and forth from one to another. But in the end it comes down to whom you think will protect us ALL and our country and I now know that it will be John McCain. I'm still scared about Palin, but I'm more terrified to put Obama in office.

Why is it that we as a country have to be separated? Why can't we all work and pull together to protect one another? You see someone fall you stop and help them up. Right? Well, to me that's what has happened to us....the USA...we have fallen and it will take everyone to help get us back on our feet. So, I'm putting out my hand on the fourth of November to John McCain to get us back on our feet.

High Horses

Senator Ted Stevens found guilty as he should have been found. Sen. Ted Stevens reaction was" I am innocent. This verdict is the result of the unconscionable manner in which the Justice Department lawyers conducted this trail''. He also says he remains a candidate for re-election.

Of course he remains a candidate, he doesn't want to give up his cushy job with all his perks. His perks is what help him get in trouble. He is just like most of them that get ''Caught'', I'm innocent, even though he was caught with his hands in the cookie jar. I'm so over these big cry babies. He's 84 yrs old and to me that's way to long to be in office supposedly looking out for his people. Retire old man, not just because you're old but because you got busted and you still want to stay in the cushy office while saying I'm innocent even though everything showed he was guilty as sin.

Let these people rot, I'm tired of us just patting them on the head and letting them still sit in office.

The FBI reports hate-crime incidents in 2007 were down about 1% down from 2006, however anti-gay crimes increased by 6%. Blacks, Jews and gays were the most frequent victims of hate crimes. More than a third of all hate-crime incidents were categorized as vandalism or property destruction. Intimidation was the second most common hate-crime, followed by simple assault. I don't think any assault is simple.

I think if the faith groups would quit spilling out their hatred for the gay community and actually try to get along with them alot of these hate-crimes against gays would go away. How can you preach love in one breath and then condemn someone else just for loving someone the same sex in the next breath? To me it doesn't matter that you love someone like you all that matters is that you love someone and that you're loved back. How can you judge someone and then read the bible to us and basically tell us that only god can judge you. What in the heck are you doing if not judging someone because of the sex of their spouse, lover, boyfriend, girlfriend. So get off your high horse and quit doing what you are preaching against.

Saturday, October 25, 2008

I have made up my mind. I really don't like either of the major candidates running so...I'm voting for whomever is on the ticket with them.

I know it's not the smartest way to vote, but I can't really vote for Obama or McCain. I vote in every election, so I am still gonna vote but just not for them. I have thought long and hard about this and this is the only solilution except not to vote and there's no way I'm not going to do that.

So, I know whom I'm going to vote for in my local elections...so now I'm all set, ready for election day.

Need Someone To Look Out For Us For A Change!!!

Man, what a nice day out today. The wind is blowing, nice & cool crisp day. I love the fall don't you. Well, enough of that. What's going on today?

The elections are getting closer and closer. Me, I'll be so glad when it's over, it's been to long listening to all the bull crap that's coming from both camps. It really doesn't matter who wins, they never do what they say they're going to do anyway. It's the same old line, ''they tell you what you want to hear to get elected''. It's true. It's a dream of mine,(a pipe dream, I know) to get someone in office that's going to do what they say they're going to do. Someone that's going to put us..the people first...their country first.

I know other countries look to us when a disaster happens, but I know no one will offer us billions of dollars if such a disaster happens to us. These countries have their hand open wide to get what they can from us, but let something happen and we'll be the first ones pushed under the bus. I feel we should get out of the United Nations, NATO... all of it. After all these years of just giving away money to other countries we should finally take care of our country first and foremost. But, hey, that's just my opinion.

Take care of the people that are losing their jobs right here near the holidays, yep, November is right around the corner.

So, tell me John McCain, why do you think companies should get tax break while out sourcing jobs to other countries? We have thousands losing their jobs everyday while these big companies are still making their money with help FROM YOU.

So, Barack Obama, tell me how you are going to make us feel good & safe about our leaders in Washington, D.C.? Show me how you are going to make us believe in you?

We need someone to look out for our country, to finally put us..the people first. Is it Obama or is it McCain? That's the real question of the day isn't it!

Things that are bugging me today

Today went by fast. It seems like you never have enough time in the day to complete everything you need to do. I went next door and visited with my neighbor, took my little dog Sugar with me. She was dressed in her Sunday go meeting dress, pink & frilly. I have never had a little dog before this one and she's a handful. She loves to dress up, take bathes/showers. It's like having a little girl in the house, I mean my two big dogs are girls but they don't like dressing up.

Has the world gone to hell in a hand basket are what? I read in the paper yesterday where an 89 year old lady was arrested because she didn't give the neighborhood kids back their ball. Hells bells people. She's 89 and she doesn't want the kids running all in her yard, they are always knocking the ball in her yard. I'm not 89, but I'd be pissed off if young ens keep coming in my yard. The paper said it was part of an on going feud in the neighborhood, it sounds like a big bunch of crap to me.

So, we have 13 more days to hear about the elections. I'm still no closer to choosing whom I'm going to vote for. I have decided my local elections but not the big one. Tomorrow I'm going to their websites and finally choose whom I'm pulling for. If only I can vote for Hillary, her party did her dirty and I would be pissed with them if I was her. But that just shows that she has class. Believe me I was not always her fan but over the years I have come to like and respect her. I would really have liked to see her run. I just can't see McCain/Palin in office, but then I can't see Obama/Biden in there either.

I told Razz, my husband that I think it's going to be a lean Christmas for a lot of people this year. People are losing their jobs, their homes, they don't even want to think about spending more money. I pray to the heavens that my husband and sons have jobs. Well, that's about it tonight, I'll write tomorrow.

A day @ the Norfolk Botanical Gardens

Here's some pictures I took when a friend and I went to the Norfolk Botanical Gardens. I thought it would rain that day, but the rain held off until that night. I hope you enjoy them. It has taken me 18 yrs to get out and go places that my city and the surrounding cities offers us the chance to go visit.

In the paper today.

In today's paper was an article about the candidates campaign contributions. Holy crap, do you know how much each one has raised through August. McCain has raised $210 million, and Obama has raised $454 million. Yes, I said million. I'm like...what the hell!!!!

Does it actually cost that much money to run for office in this country? I think that is absurdly high, I think it is outrageous. With what's going on in our country with the money woes and then you see this, that's just crazy as hell.

Also, in the paper was about Sarah Palin going on Saturday night Live. Who cares... not me, for one. Is this to show her as a real person? Show me how you will run the country beside McCain if you win..not showing me you can do comedy. I have never watched SNL, and guess what...I probably never will. This is one election that I'm not liking either of the candidates and appearing on a TV show isn't going to make me choose them.

I need help figuring out whom to vote for and appearing on comedy shows, talk shows(late night) isn't making them look good in my eyes. These so called debates they had sure didn't show me anything other than I wish this election was over with already. They just sling mud at each other and don't give any real solutions on what they're going to do if the win. So, I'm still stuck, where is Hillary, why can't I have my Hillary....why...why....why????

In the news today

What's going on today in the world. Well, I'll have to post that later, I haven't read the pare yet and I'm getting ready to go fix brownies, so, I'll be back later, chow

Show Me...Show Me My Vote Counts For Something

Why are we, the U.S.A. in such a mess? Why do we keep giving away money to other countries that wouldn't help us if we need it? Why do we keep importing from China? Why do we keep out sourcing our jobs out to countries overseas? Why???? Why????

How do we know who to vote for in November? Whomever we put in office will only show their true colors once they are in office. They are .....they think they're telling us what we want to hear to get our vote. All I hear are attacks on one another and not the real issues that will get them elected. Tell me what you're going to do about thousands of people losing their jobs to out sourcing. What are you plans to stop giving these businesses tax breaks? You want to help the amercian people, well, tell me how you're going to do this.

Are you going to rush us into another war without thinking about us.. the amercian people, about our sons, our daughters, fathers, husbands? We want a stop of all this free money that you in Washington think should go to everyone in the world except us... the american people....hell, it's our money anyway. We, the amercian people need to stand up and tell you people in Washington...One Term in office. You have these so called elected officials that get power hungry and want to stay in office and not have the balls to stand up and say''Enough Is Enough'', how can we keep spending their money and still have people going to bed at night hungry, have no where to stay.

So, give me the facts, show me what YOU are going to do once you get my vote. I don't want your personal views to influence your decicisons about abortion, the war, how to spend OUR MONEY. Your personal views is just that...PERSONAL. You have to think about ALL THE PEOPLE, just not the ones who say abortion is wrong. Me, I never had one, but I feel like it's MY CHOICE not yours. So, tell me how you are going to keep your campaign promises once you get in office without pissing your so called party off. Show me that whomever I vote for is finally going to do what's right for our great country and our people, show me.. show me something so I can finally be proud to say'' hey, I voted for him'', I helped put this man in the White House. Show Me

What A Crock?????

$700 Billion dollar bailout, yes, you heard right BILLION.

This is way to crazy, we have to bailout more companies that screwed us and their shareholders. Why do we have to help them out? We have people losing their homes and their jobs and we are supposed to keep giving these people money.

President Bush is to blame just like these people in charge are. He will go down in history as one of the worst Presidents in history. His it's my way and that's it attitude is what's wrong with him trying..yes, trying to run this great country of ours. He is failing badley. If anyone needed impeachment in his term it's him.

He wants Congress to pass this bailout without any rules or inquires about why and how this bailout is to help the american people and our economy. He just wants to hand over $700 Billion to U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson without any restrictions applied to the money.

They are trying to scare us and Congress to just giving the money away. I love what Rep. Joe Barton, R-Texas said '' Just because God created the world in seven days doesn't mean we have to pass this bill in seven days''. LOVED IT.

Like I said ''What a crock''.

A Fun Day @ the Zoo

Blessings. I had a really fun day at the zoo yesterday. I have been living here in Virginia Beach, Va. for 18yrs and that was the first time I went to the zoo in Norfolk, Va.

I went with a friend of mine(my son's girlfriend), and a little two year old named Luke(my friends roommates son). I felt just like a little kid, I didn't know what to go see first. I wanted to see the tigers, lions, giraffe. I was like a wide eyed kid, but with a camera.

Can you believe that I took 122 pictures, I mean, wow. It didn't seem like it was that many. I didn't get to see the tigers and some of the hoofed animals because they are doing construction to that exhibit, but, come on, 122 pictures was enough wasn't it. Nah, I will go back there and take more pictures, because I just loved it. Terese and I talked and she told me that as much as I loved animals I should volunteer.

That is something I'm going to check into because I would really love to do that. So, I hope you enjoy the pictures of some of those beautiful animals that I saw.

What would you choose to take?

You have two days to pack up and leave your home, a hurricane is on the way, what would you take.

That is a very good question. You have soooo much stuff that you think is really important, so now what. Do you take the family photos off the wall? How about that tomb and it's mummy that your son made in school, do you choose to grab that? How about that folder full of awards and certificates that the boys got while in school?

How do you pick which memories to save and which ones gets to be destroyed? I have thought about that since Hurricane Ike destroyed so many homes and so many memories. You never really think about the stuff you have hiding in the closest or put in the attic or stashed away in the rafters of the garage.

I know that the most important thing is to have your family moved out of harms way, but in a way these things are your family. These are what your sons made for you and what they did for themselves while in school. If I had two days I would search my attic grab a few treasures from their school days, grab the pictures off the wall, grab my albums, grab some memories to take with me. I would want to of them to survive...wouldn't you.

Choices we make

Choices we make, can with live with them later after they're made. We have to make choices everyday, what we wear, what we eat for breakfest, where we live, work. Some choices are made in haste, while some are well thought out.

Our choice for our President must be well thought out. I think they were done with haste. I think Hillary would have been the better choice, but her party chose Obama. While the other party went with McCain, who it older..yes.....but to me way to old. Why do we keep electing people who will put their views before the people that they were elected to serve? I have learned over the years that it doesn't matter what we, the people want or need.

We chose to leave England for freedom for many things but I think we are worse off now in some ways than before. In some ways the choices we make comes back to bite us in the ass,...look at what's going on now with our country. We chose Bush who is as power hungry like no one that I have ever seen before. He wants to be seen as almighty, as I can do anything I want to do and he has because people chose to put him in office.

Can we make the right choice this time around when the time comes around? I don't think we can given who we have running. Choices, we make them everyday whether they're right or wrong. So, I am choosing... to wait and see... if and when people will wake up from their cult like following of Obama and from their poor choice of McCain to do what is best for our country. Choices...we live with them everyday.

My day today

I got up this morning and started my day. Guess what, today I decided not to do anything. All week long I have been cleaning house, washing drapes, throwing stuff out, packing stuff up that's just cluttering up the house. How in the world do we collect so much crap? I cut the TV off and I got on the Internet radio station and listened to that. My dogs followed me around all week and I wore them out so they got a break with me...so, we all did nothing today except ate lunch and just hung out.

I did read the paper today , I don't know why I read the paper it doesn't do anything except piss me off reading all the mess that's going on in the city & state where I live...hell just reading about what goes on in the others parts of the world is enough to pull your hair out and go screaming out in the streets hollering no more, this is enough. I don't understand people at all. Why all the drama, why is it so important that drama has become number one in someone's life? Drama, drama, drama.....no more please

Thursday, August 14, 2008

Hello, I'm new on here but this it just what I have been looking for. I love to listen to people and I also love to throw my two cents in. I have been looking for a place to go and talk about what's going on in the world, my city, my life, your life. I have a hard time getting friends to talk about what's going on in the world, with our country but I'll have total strangers tell me about their life.

I think your friends don't want to talk about religion or politics because of every ones view on the subject. I don't want to fuzz about anything I would just like to discuss things and get different points of views. I want to know what think they think about who our next President should be and why. I want to talk about our oil crisis. I just want to broaden my mind and talk about things that matter...well, things that should matter to everyone. I could care less about who's wearing what and who's married to whom. Let's talk about what really matters...what's going on in the world today and can we help fix the problems.
